Immigration Service Delivery (ISD) has announced an important change to how they handle documents and letters received by post.
What Has Changed?
ISD has announced that due to a high volume of applications and postal items being received, it will no longer issue acknowledgement letters for documents or letters sent to them by post.
What Does This Mean for You?
If you have recently posted documents to ISD and have not received an acknowledgement this does not mean your documents have been lost or not received. It simply means ISD will no longer be sending confirmation letters as part of their process.
Your application is still being handled.
What Should You Do?
- If you have sent documents by post, allow time for them to be processed
- Do not send duplicate copies unless specifically asked to do so by ISD
- If you have concerns about your application, contact ISD directly through their online portal
Sending Important or Original Documents?
If you need to confirm that your documents have reached ISD, or if you are sending original documents, ISD recommends using registered post. You can then use the tracking number to confirm delivery. Please note that ISD will not send a separate acknowledgement even for registered post.
Where possible, ISD strongly recommends sending copies of documents through the Customer Service Portal at inisonline.jahs.ie which is the quickest and most reliable way to submit supporting documents.
