From the 1st of January, 2022 the national minimum hourly rate will become €10.50.
The following rates will apply –

Under 18 | €7.35 | 70% |
18 years old | €8.40 | 80% |
19 years old | €9.45 | 90% |
National Minimum Wage (20+) | €10.50 | 100% |
From the 1st of January, 2022, if you receive board or lodgings, that is food or accommodation from your employer, the maximum amounts that can be included are:
- for board only €0.94 per hour worked
- for accommodation only €24.81 per week or €3.55 per day
The following categories of employees are excluded from the National Minimum Wage:
- employees who are close relatives of the employer, where the employer is a Sole Trader
- a craft apprentice within the meaning of the Industrial Training Act, 1967, or the Labour of Services Act, 1987
