Caseworker 

Job Description

The Caseworker will be responsible for providing quality case work, information and supports to migrant workers coming through MRCI’s Information & Drop in Centre.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist information, advice and assistance to migrant workers and their families in areas such as family reunification, immigration, irregular migration, employment permits, social protection, and employment rights.
  • Conduct and participate in regular analysis of the issues facing migrant workers coming to the MRCI.
  • Advocate and negotiate with government departments and other agencies on behalf of people coming to the Drop in Centre
  • Contribute to the overall GDPR and data compliance in the Drop in Centre.
  • Input data into the Case Management System (Salesforce) and contribute to its development.

Person specifications

Essential:
  • Experience of the Irish context of advocacy/casework in immigration or employment or a related filed.
  • Experience of information provision on a one-to- one basis.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to tackling injustice, anti-racism and advancing migrant worker rights.
  • Education to degree level in law, human rights, social rights, social policy or equivalent.
  • Experience using technology for documentation, data management, and virtual communication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritise a busy and varied caseload effectively.
Desirable:
  • Working knowledge of additional languages.
  • Working knowledge of Ireland’s immigration and employment permit system.
  • Experience of identifying and advancing strategic cases for collective outcomes.
  • Familiarity with tracking cases through Case Management Systems preferably Salesforce and the generation of data to highlight new trends and issues.
  • Experience carrying out research and data analysis to feed into policy and legislative development.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary range of €39,800 – 43,800 based on experience (negotiable)
  • Full time 5 days, 35 hours per week
  • 25 days annual leave
  • A diverse working environment with flexible and supportive working arrangements
  • Pension contribution of 5% of salary to a PRSA
