MRCI is committed to safeguarding the privacy of our website visitors. We believe you have the right to privacy on the web. This policy sets out how we will treat your personal information.

1. Contact Us

We use email links located on the “Contact Us” sections of the website to allow you to contact us directly with any questions or comments you may have. We read every message sent in and try to reply promptly to everyone. The "Stay Informed" section uses your email address to send you important updates about our work. Your personal information is only shared with third parties with your prior consent.

2. How will we use your personal data?

Personal data submitted on this website will be used for the purposes specified in this privacy policy or in relevant parts of the website

We may use your personal information to:

(a) send you relevant information about our work and keep you up to date with important events

(b) send you general (non-marketing) communications;

(c) send you email notifications which you have specifically requested;

(d) send you fundraising communications relating to MRCI’s campaigns, which we think may be of interest to you;

(e) provide third parties with statistical information about our users - but this information will not be used to identify any individual user; and

(f) make petition submissions to third parties, where you have signed the petition and the third party is a target of the campaign to which the petition relates

3. Cookie Policy

A cookie is a piece of data stored by a website within a browser. This site uses cookies minimally. We do not use cookies to collect any personal information and we do not track personal surfing habits. We only use cookies for statistical purposes. We use Google Analytics to find out how many visitors our site receives, which pages are most popular and which browsers are used most. The information generated relating to our website is used to create reports about the use of the website. Google will store this information. 4. Donations

Our one off donations are handled through our payment services provider, Paypal. You should only provide your personal information to Paypal after reviewing the Paypal privacy policy (available at www.paypal.com). We will share information with Paypal only to the extent necessary for the purposes of processing donations you make via our website. We do not store your financial or credit card details.

For regular donations, a form is submitted to MRCI’s financial administrator who will process your request for a direct debit with your bank. Once the regular donation has been set up and verified we no longer hold your account details. Your direct debit can becancelled at anytime by writing to your bank requesting it to be cancelled.

We have a refund policy in case you make a donation in error. If you contact us within 7 days of making the donation we will return it to you within 40 days without charge.

5. Other disclosures

In addition to the disclosures reasonably necessary for the purposes identified elsewhere in this privacy policy, we will disclose information about you only when required to do so by law.

6. Security of your personal data

We will take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. You are responsible for keeping your user details confidential. We will ensure that your email privacy is respected at all times. We will not sell, rent or share our mailing list.

7. Policy amendments

We may update this privacy policy from time-to-time by posting a new version on our website. You should check this page occasionally to ensure you are happy with any changes. We may also notify you of changes to our privacy policy by email.

8. Your rights

The website contains links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of third party websites. Links do not imply that MRCI endorses, is affiliated or associated with any linked site.

10. Updating information

MRCI will from time to time send requests to update your information so that we can keep you up to date with important events and news. Please also let us know if the personal information which we hold about you needs to be corrected or updated by contacting us via communications@mrci.ie
