Helen has worked in MRCI since 2004, supporting the development of its community work model aimed at building leadership and empowering migrants to take collective action for a more just and equal Ireland. She graduated in Youth and Community Work from Maynooth University and has a Masters in Applied Social Studies. She has coordinated several leadership development courses, including the first course in Community Work aimed at migrants in Ireland. She has worked on numerous social justice and equality campaigns and is currently coordinating MRCI’s Justice for the Undocumented (JFU) campaign with the JFU core leaders group. Helen is an active member of Community Work Ireland and is a current board member of the European Network Against Racism Ireland (ENAR). She contributes as an occasional lecturer in community work theory and practice in NUIM and has a particular interest in the role values and power analysis play in critical community work praxis.
