Trafficking for Forced Labour in Cannabis Cultivation: The Case of Ireland

By 31 March 2014February 11th, 2020No Comments

Is Ireland criminalising victims of trafficking for forced labour? This report looks at the new trend of trafficking for forced labour in cannabis growhouses and asks if Ireland is ignoring clear slavery indicators and incarcerating victims.

Published as part of the RACE in Europe project, the report recommends an immediate multi-agency review of all cases where trafficking indicators are present and the appointment of a National Rapporteur to oversee anti-trafficking work in the country.
