MRCI Remembers Inez McCormack

Inez McCormack

22.01.2013 It is with great sadness that we hear of the death of Inez McCormack.  Inez was a remarkable woman who throughout her life took a stand for justice and equality. Siobhan O’ Donoghue stated "MRCI was fortunate to have her support and it is with fond memories that we recall her contribution to the Domestic Workers Action Week, where she called for solidarity amongst women and reminded us that equality for some women at the expense of others is not acceptable."

She concluded “Inez embodied the values and principles of trade unionism; in her role as a trade union leader, she fought for the rights of workers on the basis of creating a more equal society.  Her solidarity was real and meaningful, and for many of us in civil society she will be remembered as a brave woman who fought against oppressive rules and traditions in the interest of a better society for us all."
