The MRCI is a national organisation concerned with the rights of migrant workers and their families. Established in 2001 to bridge a gap in support structures and information provision for migrant workers and their families, it has since evolved to become a national organisation concerned with:
- Provision of supports to migrant workers and their families in situations of vulnerability
- Empowering migrant workers through community work practice
- Achieving policy change

A set of core values and principles underpin the work of the MRCI.
These values include:

  • A focus on social justice and equality
  • A commitment to working towards an anti racist and intercultural society
  • A concern with the human rights of migrant workers and their families
  • An emphasis on community work as an underpinning approach to our work

Workplace Rights Project Leader

The MRCI is seeking applications for the position of Workplace Rights Project Leader. The Workplace rights Project Leader coordinates MRCI’s Workplace Rights Team and is concerned with countering workplace exploitation and trafficking for forced labour.  This is a full time position until December 2011.  The deadline for applications is 5:00pm on Monday 9th November 2009. Legal Advodacy Intern

The MRCI is seeking applications for a six-month legal advocacy volunteer placement. As a part of MRCI’s Workplace Rights Team, the intern will work to support migrant workers in accessing redress for violations of their employment rights.  The internship will be six months from November 2009, 25 hours per week. Closing date for application is 5:00pm onFriday 30th October 2009.
